The two speakers work at Bird Life South Africa which is dedicated to conserving birds, their habitats, and biodiversity through scientifically-based programmes.
Dr. Hart has an extensive experience in avian research, with a special interest in the fields of ecotoxicology, ecophysiology, and urban and invasive ecology and used to work on vultures conservation at the University of Namibia. Ms. Heever has been investigating lead poisoning in South Africa’s vulture population.
They will introduce research projects on the environmental contaminants, especially heavy metals and agrochemicals, in wild avian species in the southern African region.
